group

New Mexico- On January 24, 2024, Nexus Health hosted an advocacy dinner that brought together key members of the House and Human Services committee and Senate Health and Public Affairs committee in Santa Fe. The focus of the gathering was a deep dive into the advantages of community care and the unique contributions that Nexus, an independent, physician-owned, and physician-led multispecialty practice, brings to the healthcare landscape in northern New Mexico. Emphasizing the significance of the patient experience, Nexus Health tackled crucial topics during the discussion, including reforms in prior authorization, oversight and transparency in Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), and the challenges posed by anti-competitive pressures from hospitals that disrupt timely access to care. High-quality healthcare should be characterized by its convenience, compassion, cost-efficiency, and timeliness. Notable attendees at the event included Chair Elizabeth Thomson, Vice-Chair Pamelya Herndon, Senator Antonio Maestas, Senator Daniel Soto, Minority Leader Senator Gregory Baca, and Representative Tara Lujan.
