Community Oncology Leaders Unite Ahead of D.C. Fly-In to Support H.R. 4299

May 11, 2026 — Today, independent community oncology practice leaders from across the country, representing The US Oncology Network, have come together to send a unified message to Congressional leadership: protect patient access to life-saving cancer care by advancing H.R. 4299, the Protecting Patient Access to Cancer and Complex Therapies Act.

This coordinated effort comes just ahead of The US Oncology Network’s annual Physician Fly-In, where more than 25 physician leaders will meet directly with members of Congress to discuss the urgent need for legislative action.

In a letter addressed to Speaker Mike Johnson, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, practice presidents from across The Network express strong support for H.R. 4299 and underscore the importance of preserving access to high-quality, community-based cancer care. As the letter notes, this critical legislation will ensure patients have access to affordable care and protect the ability of providers to continue delivering high-quality cancer treatment.

Representing 32 independent practices and more than 1,900 physicians, The US Oncology Network delivers care to nearly 1.9 million cancer patients annually across more than 700 sites in 25 states. These practices share a common mission: provide high-quality, advanced cancer care close to home while lowering costs for patients and the Medicare program.

Through their letter and upcoming meetings, physician leaders are sharing real-world patient stories while emphasizing the critical role community oncology plays in shaping the future of cancer care.
